#ThrowbackThursday: Quinn was a sore loser in Packers-Bears bet with Walker

In addition to being a rotten governor and a class warfare leftist, lame duck Gov. Pat Quinn's final (we can only hope) campaign exposed a character flaw of the Chicago Democrat. On election night it became clear that his Republican opponent, businessman Bruce Rauner, had defeated Quinn. The political newcomer declared victory, but Rod Blagojevich's two-time running mate refused to concede until the following afternoon, and when he did, the word "congratulations" was not used, nor was even Rauner's name.

The self-appointed populist waited five weeks before conceding defeat in 1998 in the Democratic primary for lieutenant governor.

Quinn's sore loser-ness expands beyond elections. Wisconsin governor Scott Walker made a bet with Quinn over he outcome of a 2011 NFC championship game between the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears. The Cheeseheads won that matchup and the Super Bowl as well, but because of the reforms signed into law by Walker in regards to public-sector union representation, Quinn didn't pay off the wager--which involved him volunteering at a Wisconsin food shelter while wearing a Packer's jersey--until seven months later.

Pat Quinn--crybaby and sore loser. Good riddance to bad trash.
