Hegeler Carus Mansion in LaSalle, Illinois

It's time for me to post photos from my Illinois & Michigan Canal trip that didn't fit into my blog series for various reasons.

But of course they are worthy photographs.

Below is the Hegeler Carus Mansion in LaSalle, Illinois. William W. Boyington was the architect for this grand home that was completed in 1876; he also designed the Chicago Water Tower and the Joliet State Penitentiary.

This mansion is in the Second Empire Style.
