Texting: AFL-CIO boss rips rule of law in Harris vs. Quinn decision

The US Supreme Court handed Illinois' governor, Chicago Democrat Pat Quinn, as well as Big Labor, a major defeat yesterday. In an executive order, that home health care workers who take care of their own relatives in  their own homes were eligible for union representation. I mean, what were these people going to do? Go on strike against their family?

Quinn's move was a naked attempt for the public-sector unions to collect more dues so they could stuff some of that cash into the campaign coffers of Quinn's fellow Democrats.

Meanwhile, AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka has turned this decision into a rich verus poor straw man battle.

Yesterday I received a text message from the AFL-CIO.

It reads:
AFL-CIO: The Supreme Court Harris v Quinn ruling is part of an onslaught from anti-worker orgs hostile to raising wages. Help fight it: text STRENGTH to 235246.
I texted back...

The reply:
"The fate of cannot & will not be decided by one Supreme Court decision." President Trumka. Tell friends: text STRENGTH to 235246 to join our movement.
Clearly, Trumka does not respect the rule of law and our highest authority on it.
