Bloody Chicago: 11 dead, at least 60 wounded over July 4 weekend

It was not a happy Independence Day weekend on the bloody streets of Chicago. Eleven Chicagoans were shot to death and at least 60 others were wounded.

Chicago is America's murder capital, although Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy has been touting a lower murder rate for the six months of 2014. However, the brutal winter put a temporary chill on the killings.
