Tea Party favorite Sasse wins Nebraska GOP Senate nomination

Omaha skyline
As if for penance for sending Democrat Ben "Cornhusker Kickback" Nelson to the US Senate, Nebraska voters have again selected a Tea Party candidate in a Republican US Senate primary.

Ben Sasse easily won today's GOP race for the opportunity to succeed retiring Republican Mike Johanns. Two years ago, Deb Fisher of remote Valentine was the surprise winner of the 2012 Republican primary. She's now a senator.

Barring a catastrophe, look for Sasse to be the next Tea Party senator from Nebraska.
