Chicago: Dog's worst friend |
From CBS Chicago:
Chicago's Animal Care and Control is charged with controlling and caring for unwanted or abused animals.Chance attracted the interest of a rescue group, which wanted to adopt the dog. The employee that put Chance under was suspended but now is back at work.
But a WBBM investigation with the Better Government Association has uncovered recent mistakes that killed two dogs at the South Side facility.
The dog's name was Chance — coincidentally, as in, second chance at life.
Chance was at Chicago Animal Care and Control for at least nine days. He'd been treated for bite wounds.
The other dog referred to in the story was possibly choked to death by an ACC worker attempting to subdue the animal. He faces "an agressive suspension.
What about dismissal?

I saw this on CBS news last night and saw the dog Chance. Such a happy dog. Why did they do this? Broke my heart. I had a hard time accepting this and my heart goes out to the young woman from the shelter crying.
