No surprise: Illinoisans trust their government the least according to Gallup

Four of the last eight elected governors of Illinois later graduated to federal prison. Chicago, its largest city, is where 31 members of the City Council have been convicted of crimes since 1972.

So it should be no surprise that Illinoisans, according to a Gallup poll released today, trust their government the least. Tied for second place--distantly--was Rhode Island and Maine.

But the dopey voters of this state keep electing these clowns, so no one should feel sorry for us. We have the government we deserve.

Illinois was the starting point for President Obama's political career. PolitFact awarded Obama it's coveted "Lie of the Year" award last year for his you-can-keep-your-healthcare-plan ObamaCare promise.

In 2008 at the Democratic National Convention, then-US Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. told the throngs, "Illinois is America."

Junior is in prison now.
