Johnson County War: Enviros lose big in Illinois anti-fracking referendum

Johnson County, IL
Johnson County, Illinois sits on top of the New Albany Shale, which could hold up to 300 billion barrels of oil. Some environmental extremists put a non-binding referendum on the ballot to ban fracking in the rural county near Kentucky. But the sensible residents there resoundingly voted it down.

Are the greenies accepting the voice of the people? Of course not, because they don't care what everyone else thinks.

Fracking will create jobs in Illinois--which are desperately needed in the Land of Lincoln. It has the nation's second-highest unemployment rate.
