Global warming news: Winter 2014 Great Lakes ice cover second highest ever

Lake Michigan in January
A few days before Senate Democrats held an all-night pajama party at the Capitol whining about so-called human-caused global warming, the ice cover on the Great Lakes reached its second-highest total ever--at 92 percent. Only the legendary winter of 1979 brought more ice to those lakes.

As I blogged earlier this week, Lake Michigan set an all-time record for ice cover over the weekend.

But the planet is getting warmer, the chicken-littles keep saying.
