Philip Seymour Hoffman died today in New York City, of an apparent drug overdose--another great talent who lived a troubled life.
While best known for his roles in such films as Boogie Nights, Capote, and The Master, Hoffman also appeared as Joseph Plumb Martin, a Connecticut Continental Army soldier in PBS' 1997 Liberty! The American Revolution.

Hoffman was 46. Rest in peace.
