(Photo) The now-closed Des Plaines Theatre

Yesterday the Daily Herald reported that the Des Plaines Theatre in Des Plaines, Illinois has been closed; the owner has been unable to keep up with modern building code standards. Originally a vaudeville house, more recently the Des Plaines had shown Bollywood films, hosted horror movie festivals, as well as concerts.

The theater opened in 1925.
