(Photos) Icy Lake Michigan

Work brought me to Evanston, Illinois yesterday and Friday. Of course I took my camera and headed over to the Lake Michigan shore.

Those are iced pilings at Clark Square.

Looking south from the same spot. The high-rises in the distance are in Chicago.

The last photos are from Elliot Park. If this was summer, I'd be standing thirty yards from the shore. In the distance is Northwestern University.

This chunk of ice is sitting on the sand, I suspect high waves dragged this piece away from the rest of the icy shore. Sand gives this ice boulder its brown hue.

Is this an iceberg?

This breakwater--and its accompanying rocks--also is an ice catcher.
