Utah's 10th Mountain Division Memorial Highway

Today, Pearl Harbor Day, marks the 20th anniversary of my first date with Mrs. Marathon Pundit. As you probably know, my wife had gall bladder surgery on Tuesday and I brought her home yesterday afternoon.

And once again I'm digging into her treasure trove of photos from her August trip. Pictured is Utah Route 224, which is the primary route into Park City. It's also the 10th Mountain Division Memorial Highway. The division fought in Italy and it was slated to participate in invasion of Japan, but the Japanese of course surrendered after the atomic bomb attacks of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The 10th is still active, and it has participated in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars.
