Chicago: Santa delivers gifts to families of slain cops

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.

From AP:
Some of Chicago's toughest cops are dressing as elves to deliver gifts this weekend to 16 families of slain or seriously injured police officers.

The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation's 7th Annual "Operation Santa" began Saturday with a presidential-style motorcade escorting Santa and Ms. Claus, accompanied by elves, to deliver the gifts.

It began at the downtown Macy's store. Macy's is the event's primary sponsor for the third year.

The foundation's Phil Cline tells WBBM Radio that the officers playing elves are among the city's toughest.
