(Video) 2012 flashback: Joe Walsh on the threat of homegrown radical Islam

After being called "irresponsible" for his statements on the threat of domestic radical Islam by his Democratic opponent Tammy Duckworth, then US Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL) said in a video last year, "While the overwhelming majority of Muslim Americans are as peace-loving as everyone else, there are radical Islamists right here in the United States trying to kill Americans and destroy this country."

He added, "Let me be clear, bowing down to political-correctness has and will get Americans killed."

Last week, three people were murdered--and dozens injured--by two radicalized Muslim brothers at the end of the Boston Marathon. Early Friday morning one of them killed a police officer.

Walsh doesn't pull any punches against Duckworth, who succeeded Walsh in Congress in the gerrymandered 8th District, or CAIR, the Council on American Islamic Relations.

A month later, Duckworth, donning a hijab, told members of a west suburban Chicago mosque that growth of the district's minority population is "uncomfortable for the status quo."

Walsh now hosts a radio show on WIND-AM Chicago.

Hat tip to Bill Baar's West Side.
