Breitbart: Joe Walsh to sue Sun-Times--and my take

Walsh and author at TeaCon
Shortly before I spoke with then-Congressman Joe Walsh two years ago at TeaCon in Schaumburg, Illinois, he was  interviewed by Chicago Sun-Times reporter Maureen O'Donnell. Walsh had just finished addressing a break-out session centered on ObamaCare--and did O'Donnell ask him about the issues he brought up a few minutes earlier? No. She only inquired about child support payments.

In her article about TeaCon, O'Donnell mentioned child support payments.

Yesterday another Sun-Times reporter, Natasha Korecki, returned to the child support story. Clearly they have an agenda--and an opportunity to use an unflattering photo of Walsh.

But Walsh, as Breitbart reports, vows to fight back.
Former Illinois Republican Rep. Joe Walsh plans to sue the Chicago Sun-Times for printing what he said “is a deliberate attempt to defame” him.

Sun-Times reporter Natasha Korecki on Monday authored an article alleging Walsh, who lost his bid for re-election, is behind on child support payments.

"After insisting he wasn't a 'deadbeat dad' throughout his failed campaign for re-election, ex-U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh is still dogged by questions about child support," Korecki wrote. "Walsh, a flame-throwing Tea Party Republican who was trying to land a radio deal and last week announced he was forming a new conservative SuperPAC, filed court papers seeking to end his obligation to pay $2,134 per month in child support."

The Sun-Times article goes on to suggest Walsh is trying to "terminate" his child support payments through a Feb. 1 court filing his attorney Janet Boyle said would be more aptly referred to as a "modification" request.
On his website late last night, Walsh said, "Earlier this afternoon, Natasha Korecki of the Chicago Sun-Times, wrote a story about me and my child support arrangement, without bothering to speak to me or to my attorney. The story stated and implied that I did not want to make child support payments and was behind on payments. Both statements are false." (Bold print emphasis from Walsh.)
