Prairie Wolf Slough in winter

Prairie Wolf Slough is a restored wetland in Deerfield, Illinois. It's named for early Chicago settler John Kinzie Clark. He was raised by Native Americans--and his Indian name was Prairie Wolf. He is buried in Deerfield.

I took this photograph last week--pictured are cottonwood trees. And above them are some gorgeous cirrus clouds.
