Failure: Dem-controlled IL General Assembly unable to pass pension reform bill

Rather than confront Illinois' $100 billion unfunded pension liability, the Democratic-controlled General Assembly decided to pass gun control and gay marriage legislation. Neither passed. Then the legislature decided to do something about those pensions. But no bill was approved.

Exactly why are we paying these legislators?

Today the new General Assembly is being sworn in. Will they punt the pension bomb to the next group of legislators? Probably. Because that's the way things are done in Illinois. Or not done.

Union opposition is being blamed for the failure of pension reform. But since the Democratic Party is bought-and-paid-for by Big Labor, some of the responsibility lies with these so-called public servants. But voters  who keep sending these clowns to Springfield need to only look in the mirror when they ask, "Why is nothing being done?"
