Canoeing at the Skokie Lagoons

The most famous seven bodies of water in the world are the Seven Sacred Pools of Hana in Maui--which Mrs. Marathon Pundit and I visited on our honeymoon.

The second most famous seven bodies of water could be the Skokie Lagoons, the southern end of them are about ten miles from Morton Grove. I was there on Sunday--at the Willow Road Dam--and I took this photograph of a couple of canoeists heading to shore.

It's at the dam that Happy Canoe Year starts every January 1.
