Illinois corruption 9/7/12: Dixon horse auction starts today

We are one hour into an online auction for one quarter of the 400 quarter horses owned by champion horse breeder Rita Crundwell, the disgraced former treasurer of Dixon, Illinois. She allegedly stole $53 million in municipal funds to pay for her lavish lifestyle.

A private firm was hired by the US Marshals service for the auction.

Dixon, a wonderful town on the Rock River that I've visited several times, is best known as Ronald Reagan's hometown.
