How they organize: CWA union's '99% Spring' video distorts USA history

Perhaps more so than any major union, the Communications Workers of America union has hopped into bed with the radical Occupy movement. Its latest tryst is its participation in the '99 Percent Spring.'

CWA posted its training videos for the event on YouTube. In this one, 'The Power of Non-Violent Direct Action,' we gain insight into how the left views America.

After giving the union movement full-credit for 20th century economic gains, the narrator changes the subject by telling us (at 8:40), "But by 1970 corporate America had organized to hold on to their power. Part of their strategy was to enter a state of permanent publicly-funded war to advance corporate interests overseas and rake in billions in taxpayer dollars for defense contracts."

Later in the video, activist David Solnit rewrites history by proclaiming, "In the early 1980s I was part of a mass movement that recognized that President Reagan had brought us to the verge of nuclear war together with the Soviet Union."

Of course the opposite is true--Reagan ended the Cold War and defused the Soviet nuclear threat without firing a shot.

Sheesh!

The Reagan bashing doesn't end there. Ace Robinson, managing director of Gay Men's Health Crisis, claims that the Gipper was silent about AIDS. He wasn't. And Reagan increased AIDS research from nothing to over $5 billion.

Of course the video ends with a loving kiss to the law-breaking Occupy movement.

Because the occupiers and union rabble-rousers are fed lies--it's no wonder to any rational person that they spew untruths.
