Occupy Chicago will be G8-less

Once again I have to return to discussing the tactic Occupy disowning members who end up in serious trouble with the law. Anthony J. Williams of Occupy Augusta was arrested for threatening a man with a knife. The Kennebec Journal reported yesterday that Williams has been sentenced to three months in jail for his crime--but the paper now describes him as a former occupier. Occupy Augusta, also known as Occupy Maine, doesn't have a tent city anymore, but the group still exists. So what makes Williams, who has been incarcerated since October, a former occupier? Did he resign? Was he expelled? Is the Journal protecting Occupy Augusta? This headline writer plays along in an AP story about Williams.

That's not all. Another Maine paper, the Morning Sentinel, reports on the issuing of arrest warrants for "five former Occupy movement protesters," including a local politician. Former? Really? Who decides?

Is there a Maine Journolist?

Maine is in the spin cycle.

More big news: It's likely that Occupy protests led to the moving of the G8 portion of the G8 NATO summits to Camp David.

Reports are still trickling in, but roughly 70 occupiers were arrested in Sacramento yesterday.
