Obama video flashback: "Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessary skyrocket"

We have an anti-fossil fuel president. President Obama blocked construction of the Keystone XL pipeline--which will bring 800,000 barrels of oil from Canada. Daily.

As for coal, Obama wants to kill it as an energy source--consumers be damned.

"Under my plan of a cap and trade system," Obama said in 2008, "electricity rates would necessary skyrocket."

Fortunately for Americans, the Tea Party movement and the Republican Party raised such a ruckus over Obama's beloved cap and trade system that the cap and trade billas never even voted on in the Senate after it passed the then-Democratic controlled House.

Back to Keystone: Obama's audacious press secretary is blaming the Republicans for preventing this shovel-ready project from getting started.
