Ron Paul's racist newsletters

Let me be real clear on Ron Paul. He's the one Republican running for president that I cannot and will not vote for in 2012. If by some miracle he wins the GOP nomination, I will vote for Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker as a write-in.

Back to Paul. Lately the media has been digging into his past and exploring the content of newsletters, under slightly different titles but all of them containing the name "Ron Paul," that contain racist statements. Not just borderline stuff that would only interest someone in the racism business such as the Rev. Jesse Jackson, but bile such as this:
A mob of black protestors, led by the 'Rev.' Al Sharpton, occupied and closed the Statue of Liberty recently, demanding that New York be renamed Martin Luther King City 'to reclaim it for our people.' Hmmm. I hate to agree with the Rev. Al, but maybe a name change is in order. Welfaria? Zooville? Rapetown? Dirtburg? Lazyopolis? But Al, the Statue of Liberty? Next time, hold that demonstration at a food stamp bureau or a crack house.
Paul claims he didn't write them but even if he didn't, they were published under his name.

The newsletters go back to the 1970s, but most of the ones that have been unearthed are from the nineties. Paul says he didn't write the articles, he didn't always read them, but he made money off of them, perhaps $1 million. He says he disavowed them long ago.

Illinois Review has more, as does Red State, Doug Ross, and Legal Insurrection.

Watch as Paul walks off during a CNN interview who presses him on those newsletters.
