Cain derails own train

Amidst a bizarre scene televised shown on cable news--a barbecue at the opening of a campaign office--Herman Cain ended his presidential run.

He derailed the Cain Train. "I am suspending my presidential campaign," he said just now.

The former Godfather's Pizza CEO, with his 9-9-9 plan, brought tax reform to the GOP presidential campaign table.

Unfortunately, because several women came forward--with varying degrees of credibility--of accusations of sexual improprieties committed by Cain, his post-Florida Straw Poll victory efforts saw the businessman constantly on defense.

And the last accuser, Ginger White, is quite credible. That doesn't make her story true, but perception trumps the truth in politics.

As for the "false and unproved allegations," Cain told his supporters that they are not true.

Cain had another cloud on his horizon--reports of a nasty temper.

He couldn't resist this parting shot: "The voice of the people is more powerful," Cain declared, "than the voice of the media."
