Bob Dold packs care packages for troops

On Monday Rep. Bob Dold (R-IL) was in his Chicago North Shore office packing goodies for our men and women serving in Afghanistan.

From a Dold press release:
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Congressman Robert J. Dold (IL-10) was joined by volunteers from the community and packed up care packages for local troops serving in Afghanistan. For the past three weeks, members of the community stopped by the Northbrook district office to donate supplies for the troops.

"During this holiday season it is inspiring to see the generosity of our community," said Dold. "As we reflect on the year and spend time with family and friends, we must not forget about the brave men and women serving in Afghanistan and throughout the world. I am proud of the support for our troops throughout our local communities and look forward to the troops receiving these well-deserved care packages."

Throughout the month of December Rep. Dold's Northbrook district office collected supplies from the community to send to troops serving in Afghanistan this holiday season. Over 38 boxes and counting were packed up today and will be sent to the troops in Afghanistan. The packages will be sent to 10th district resident Andrew Kochman who is serving in Afghanistan and he will help distribute to local troops and those serving in the most remote parts of Afghanistan who do not have regular access to contact their families back home. Andrew's parents, as well as other volunteers from the community, came to the Northbrook office to help put together the care packages today.

Rep. Dold is a third-generation resident of the 10th district of Illinois. As a small business owner, he has faced many of the challenges confronting business leaders today and is using that firsthand experience in Washington to help find ways to create more jobs and strengthen the economy.
