Joe Walsh sounds the alarm at TeaCon 2011: We are in the midst of a revolution

Clearly his talk during a Saturday morning TeaCon breakout session was just a warm-up for Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL). The House freshman was well within his comfort zone when he gave a luncheon speech in front of 700 people at TeaCon 2011 in Schaumburg two hours later. Tea partiers were his audience and the hotel is in his congressional district.

"I am a Tea Party conservative first," Walsh boasted, "and a Republican second." He offered backhanded praise to a fellow Illinoisan. "Thank God President Obama got elected--because the American people woke up."

"We are in the midst of a revolution, not an election," Walsh said. "We are in the midst of a revolution to take our country back."

But Walsh didn't just dump on Democrats. He deried Speaker of the House John Boehner's "keep quiet and we'll get rid of Obama in a year" approach to opposing the Democrats agenda. He reminded the audience that of the 87 House GOP freshman, he was the only one who received no financial support from the Republican Party.

Alluding to the widely-known reports of Walsh's financial problems and child support issues, "It's not been easy" he admitted in regards to running and then serving in Congress.

And he won't be serving long. He pledges to stick around for just three terms in Washington.

But first things first. "We are in the midst of a revolution, not an election," he asserted. "We are in the midst of a revolution to take our country back."
