NFL is back; Gov. Quinn says he will pay up on Bears-Packers bet

Tampico, IL,
Feb. 6, 2011
Now that the NFL is back in business, I think today is as good of a time as any to bring up Illinois' dishonorable governor, Pat Quinn, a Chicago Democrat. Over five months ago Quinn was supposed to wear a Green Bay Packers jersey while volunteering at a Wisconsin food pantry.

The Green Bay Packers defeated the Chicago Bears in the NFC Championship game in January--the Packers went on to win the Super Bowl on February 6.

But because of the labor dispute regarding Scott Walker's budget repair bill, Quinn welshed on his agreement with the Republican governor, although last week he promised to pay up before the season football season started

Meanwhile, Quinn has tried to cancel a promised raise for Illinois public-sector workers.

The Chicago Bears training camp opens on Saturday in Bourbonnais, Illinois.
