Muddy Waters: Mannish Boy

I'm going to have more on blues music tomorrow, but for now you'll have to make do with Muddy Waters performing "Mannish Boy" in 1971. That ain't so bad, though.

Waters, whose real name was McKinley Morganfield, was born in 1913 in Mississippi's delta region. In 1940, Waters moved to Chicago and became a pioneer of electrified Chicago blues, which had a profound influence on the development of rock and roll.

Waters died in 1983, I was fortunate to see him perform two years earlier. And yes, he played "Mannish Boy."

Ye-ahhh!
