Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, the public-sector union tool and tax-raiser, will be closing down my Amazon.com store. I didn't make a lot of money with the ads--but what I did earn was plowed back into Marathon Pundit to advance the cause of truth, justice, and the American Way.
Amazon, which does not have a physical presence in the Prairie State, doesn't have to pay Illinois sales tax on purchases, but since I'm behind enemy lines in Unionland, Quinn wants sales tax from purchase made here.
The internet sales tax bill will cost Illinois jobs, and businesses effected by it are considering moving outside the state.
Thank you, Marathon Pundit readers, for your past purchases.
Amazon says it will no longer work with affiliates in Illinois because of the tax.

They tried the same thing in Hawaii, but the Governor vetoed it. If it comes up again, it will probably pass though. It's not just that, but when times are hard, it is nice to be able to buy something online at a bargain price and not have to pay sales tax. They are killing us.
ReplyDeleteIncredible the negative impact on America that the state of Illinois has had.
