Obama proposing new jobs taxes

Eariler today I blogged that President Obama didn't tell the truth when he told Fox News' Bill O'Reilly, "I didn't raise taxes once."

Look what he has planned now!

From the Senate Republican Communications Center:

One Day After Asking Job Creators To Help ‘Win The Future’ By Hiring ‘More American Workers,’ Reports Surface That President Obama Will Propose Raising Taxes On Jobs

PRESIDENT OBAMA AT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: “Ask Yourselves What You Can Do To Hire More American Workers, What You Can Do To Support The American Economy And Invest In This Nation... We Know What It Will Take For America To Win The Future… We Need To Make America The Best Place On Earth To Do Business.” (President Obama, Remarks, U.S. Chamber Of Commerce, Washington, DC, 2/7/11)

‘The Plan … Could Increase Payroll Taxes By As Much As $100 Billion’

“President Barack Obama's Budget Proposal Is Expected To Give States A Way To Collect More Payroll Taxes From Businesses, In An Effort To Replenish The Unemployment-Insurance Program. The Plan Could Cause Controversy At A Time When The Administration Is Seeking To Mend Fences With Corporate America.” (“Obama Budget Proposes Broader Unemployment Taxes,” The Wall Street Journal, 2/8/11)

•    “The Proposal Would Aim To Restock Strained State Unemployment-Insurance Trust Funds By Raising The Amount Of Wages On Which Companies Must Pay Unemployment Taxes To $15,000, More Than Double The $7,000 In Place Since 1983.” (“Obama Budget Proposes Broader Unemployment Taxes,” The Wall Street Journal, 2/8/11)

•    “The Plan, Which Would Take Effect In 2014, Could Increase Payroll Taxes By As Much As $100 Billion Over A Decade, According To A Person Involved In Its Construction.” (“Obama Budget Proposes Broader Unemployment Taxes,” The Wall Street Journal, 2/8/11)
