Jesse Jackson in Madison on Chicago's Election Day

Good morning. Where is Jesse?

Here's something unusual: Election Day in Chicago is today and the Reverend Jesse Jackson will be in Madison, Wisconsin early this morning, where he will participate in a march and address high school students on the school's public address system.

I imagine he'll return to Chicago sometime today--after all, his daughter-in-law Sandi Jackson is running for reelection as 7th Ward alderman. However, late last year Jesse hosted a summit of the two major black mayoral candidates left in the race, U.S. Rep. Danny K. Davis and former U.S. Senator Carol Moseley Braun--the result of it was the anointing of Braun as the unity black candidate.

Jackson is supporting the public-sector unions in their dispute with Governor Scott Walker.

But either Jesse figures there will be more TV cameras in Madison, or that he needs to keep his distance from the gaffe-prone and ethically-challenged Braun today.

What does Jesse know?

What we won't see when the sun is rising is live coverage of Jackson exhorting his base to vote for Braun.
