EPA now looking at milk spills

This morning President Obama spoke to the US Chamber of Commerce and among other things, promised to ease the "burdensome regulations" businesses have to cope with on a daily, perhaps even on an hourly basis.

But Obama's words and actions don't mesh. Last week, the Fuel Fix blog reported that the Environmental Protection Agency solidified a rule that places dairy producers to the Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure program because "milk contains a percentage of animal fat, which is a non-petroleum oil." The spill initiative, which dates back to 1970, was designed to prevent oil leakages into lakes, rivers, and the ocean.

If you are a dairy farmer, I would call this EPA move a "burdensome regulation."
