More Rahm reading

I just caught the last few minutes of the WGN-TV debate between the four major mayoral candidates. Of course the major story this evening is the Illinois Supreme Court decision putting former Rahm Emanuel back on the ballot. The decision was 7-0, four Democrats and three Republicans, in favor of the former White House chief of staff and Northwest Side congressman.

The state high court was dismissive of the majority ruling of the Appellate Court, stating, "The novel standard adopted by the appellate court majority is without any foundation in Illinois law." In her dissenting opinion, Appellate Court Justice Bertina E. Lampkin was of similar mind.

The first round of balloting is February 22. Also being chosen are the city's 50 alderman, the city clerk, and treasurer.
