President Obama was in Chicago today, headlining a fundraiser for Democrat Alexi Giannoulias, the failed mob banker who is running for Obama's old Senate seat, which is currently held by Rod Blagojevich-appointee Roland Burris.
Andrea Mitchell on Democratic-friendly MSNBC said of Giannoulias today that he is "not the best candidate." She's right. Republican Mark Kirk is.
Meanwhile, US Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Chicago), the only man, so far, to defeat Barack Obama in an election, had this to say about Giannoulias this afternoon: "I'm not sold on him…I don't want just the same old stuff."

Bobby Rush is my Congressman- I think our standards are pretty low here.
ReplyDeleteI'm not exactly thrilled with Kirk either, but there were way too many real conservatives in the running and it split them so we ended up with the polished turd.
Would rather have him win than getting another corrupt member of the Chicago machine in there. It's just not going to show people in IL what conservative principles are all about.
