The hits keep coming: Egyptians who marry Israelis could lose citizenship

The pariahization of Israel continues. The Egyptian Supreme Administrative Court ruled today that the nation's Interior Department can the strip citizenship of those Egyptians who marry an Israeli. The lawyer who filed the suit celebrated the decision, declaring the law "is aimed at protecting Egyptian youth and Egypt's national security." Five years ago, the nation's chief mufti issued a fatwa, declaring Muslim Egyptians are forbidden from marrying Israelis "whether Arab, Muslim, or Christian."

However, if a potential spouse is not Jewish, the Interior Department might let the lucky Egyptian remain an Egyptian. Israel hasn't responded to the ruling--I mean, what can they say? Who will listen? So far Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and President Obama are mum too.

When will it end? Probably not for a while. But I hope I'm wrong.
