Employers balking at adding young adults to coverage

One of the selling points of ObamaCare was that young adults could stay on their parents' health insurance coverage until they turn 26. The Cleveland Plain Dealer is reporting that many employers are balking at adding the full-figured or bearded youngsters to their parents plans now that they are graduating from college.

The provision to cover the kids doesn't kick in until late September but open-enrollment periods typically arrive after that date, which means these young adults may not be covered until New Year's Day.

The Plain Dealer phrases it well, "You can't blame this one on the insurance companies."
