Obama headed to Quincy, but what about Peoria? And where will Alexi be?

As part of his "White House to Main Street" tour this week, President Obama will make a rare (yes, that's not a typo) visit to his home state. Wednesday will see the Chosen One in Quincy, Illinois.

The Republican National Committee has a better idea for a central Illinois stop--Peoria, home of Caterpillar, Inc.

President Obama's "White House to Main Street" tour name is ironic considering that his government takeover of health care will kill jobs in small towns like Quincy across the state of Illinois. Perhaps a more appropriate visit would be to Caterpillar, who, as a result of his government-run health care takeover, will be hit by a $100 million increase in costs in the first year alone. How will this bill help them to expand and hire? With another bailout slush fund on deck and employers scared of what's to come, this White House shows it will do nothing about Illinois' unemployment rate which is creeping towards 12 percent.
Not expected in Quincy is Alexi Giannoulias, the embattled Democratic Senate nominee who Obama enthusiastically endorsed over the slated candidate for treasurer in 2006.

UPDATE April 26: AP is reporting that Giannoulias will appear with Obama in Quincy. I hope a lot of photographs are taken.
