Ill. congressman representing Gerrymandered district: "I don't worry about the Constitution"

Rep. Phil Hare (D-Rock Island) represents the Gerrymandered monstrosity known as the Illinois' 17th Congressional District. Besides the Illinois part of the Quad Cities, Hare's contortionist's-creation includes Springfield, Decatur, Sterling, and Quincy.

Just the geography of this spaghetti-district adds to Illinois' shame. But there is more: Here is what its congressman had to say about has to say about the US Constitution when defending ObamaCare: "I don't worry about the constitution." You know, the one he swore to uphold, more than once. The arrogance of these Democrats is appalling.

Voters in the 17th have a choice. From an Illinois Republican Party press release:

Bobby Schilling, Republican candidate for Congress in the Illinois 17th District, said that Rep. Phil Hare's comments on the Constitution were "despicable and foolish." At a town hall yesterday, Phil Hare, when asked about the constitutionality of the new healthcare law, told constituents that he, "doesn't worry about the Constitution." Schilling was traveling to a 9/12 meeting in Montgomery county when he heard about the comment.

"This statement is outrageous and ridiculous," said Schilling. "What is really sad is that this mindset is typical of many representatives in Congress. This explains why Congress is out of control. The Constitution is a protection set up for the people against a tyrant government. It has kept the United States stable for almost 250 years. When we go to Congress we will reign in this tyrant government and get it back to following and believing in the Constitution."

Schilling, a native of Rock Island, graduated from Alleman High School and attended Black Hawk College. Schilling, a local business owner and father of ten children, is the Republican candidate for the 17th Congressional District in Illinois. Bobby is running on a platform of bring jobs and real representation back to the 17th District. Earlier this year, Schilling conducted a 34-city "Bob's for Jobs" tour, where he met with voters and employers all across the 17th District.
