Toyota hearings: 31 Dems rec'd UAW cash

Yesterday Akio Toyoda testified to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform about faulty vehicles, the day before James E. Lentz, who runs the automakers American operations, did the same in front of Committee on Energy and Commerce.

Mark Tapscott did some digging, and found that of the 59 Democrats serving on those committees, 31 of them received campaign contributions from the United Auto Workers, the union that owns 17.5 percent of General Motors--which of course is a competitor of Toyota. Of course the federal government owns a majority stake in GM.

Oh, the hypocrisy...
