Bayh, who is up for reelection next year, kept his health care voting preference to his chest, voted for ObamaCare after declaring it "a close call."
But the Indianapolis Star tells a different story:
"Legitimate arguments have been made by both sides," Bayh said in a statement.
That's a different tone than Bayh took with fellow Democrats behind closed doors, according to The New York Times and Roll Call, a Capitol Hill newspaper.
The publications said Democrats credited remarks Bayh made as helping the party draw together.
Citing unidentified officials who attended a meeting of Democratic senators and the president Dec. 15, The New York Times said Bayh called health care the kind of public policy he had come to Washington to work on. He said he did not want to see the satisfied looks on GOP faces if it failed.

Dear Senator Bayh,
ReplyDeleteVery simply, I hope you enjoyed your time in the Senate. Since you have pledged your allegiance to Harry Reid and the Democratic Party rather than to the the people of INDIANA who put you in office, I hope Harry has a job for you in November.
I will do everything possible to make certain you are NOT re-elected since you choose to vote for this "Obamanation" called healthcare reform.
I would suggest you schedule an x-ray exam since you have no spine anymore. You have to be a medical miracle since spineless creatures slither on their belly like a snake! Don't bother sending me any of your form letters telling me how great you are. Actions always speak louder than words and you spoken with your vote, now me and my family will speak with ours.
Thanks for a whole lot of nothing you spineless weasel.
Sincerely,
Vaneichel
