No Obama-lympics in Chicago represents O's failure as a president

Fifteen months ago in Berlin, Barack Obama declared himself "a citizen of the world." Earlier today, the world rebuffed the president, and his hometown's Olympic bid was the first city voted off the planet by the IOC.

Which brings me to something I read in the National Review around the time of his Berlin speech. It went something along these lines: After a while in each job he had, community organizer, lawyer, state senator, US Senator, Obama came to the conclusion that he needed more power to get the job done. If he becomes president--again I paraphrasing NR--he'll make great speeches that make us feel good; he'll be the biggest community organizer in the world. But don't expect him to accomplish much.

Since his inauguration, Obama hasn't been able to close the Guantanamo Bay detention facility, get a health care reform bill passed, or bring the Olympics to Chicago.

Okay, he was able to get his economic stimulus bill passed--which was supposed to cap the nation's unemployment rate below 8 percent--it's now at 9.8 percent. Cap and trade barely made it out of the House of Representatives, it faces an uncertain future in the Senate.

Afghanistan, "his top priority," is at best a question mark for the president and the nation.

Obama's not accomplishing much at all. Just like when he was a community organizer, a state senator...

No he can't!

2012: Let the games begin.

  1. What a shame the racketeering scum of the Chicago Machine won’t have this windfall to skim-off of, LOLOL

Aren’t things going great since Valerie Jarret has been running the country?

  2. So he tried, It didn't work. What's the harm in pulling for the home team. It's a game, a symbol. If the Olympics went to Chicago you would complain about the potential cost of hosting the games.

Bottom line.. You simply have an ax to grind.. Gee.. I'm surprised you don't just go ahead and use the N word..

Perhaps you can give us an example of leadership you approve of. What would a real decisive President do? How about W's rush to entangle us in two wars and undermine our constitution. How about his fear campaign to tip the scales in his second election. Let me guess, that's your kind of leader.

As for Healthcare, it's hard to accomplish anything if the money interests are spending like there is no tomorrow to protect their enormous salaries, bonuses and profits.

Guys like you remind me of the best advice my divorce lawyer gave me about my ex-wife. Stop expecting her to say something nice.

So please grind your ax. It's your ulcer dude.
