Florida congressman Grayson says GOP health care plan is for seniors to "die quickly"

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) represents an Orlando swing district. Let's hope those swing doors hit him on his behind in 2010.

Accompanied by professionally printed cue cards, no doubt printed at government expense, Grayson put forth what he believes is the Republican health care plan:

We're all waiting to see something to take care of people who have preexisting conditions, to take care of the 47 million people in this country who have no coverage at all. There is no plan. And that's what I meant ... when I said the Republican plan really is don't get sick. And if you do get sick, die quickly.

Among other things, the GOP health care plan includes tort reform and the ability to buy health insurance across state lines.

Grayson refuses to apologize for his comments, but mockingly, he apologized "to the dead." And he didn't let up on Republicans: "These are foot-dragging, knuckle-dragging Neanderthals who think they can dictate policy to America by being stubborn."

Meanwhile, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says no apology is necessary for Grayson's outbursts.

  1. Nothing causes so much consternation in the corporate media as telling the truth about Republicans. Grayson's comments aren't even controversial among the rational and well informed.

  2. Hopefully Congressman Grayson's approach should be a huge WAKE UP call to the mealy-mouth sissies on the DEMS side of the aisle.
Hey a guy with a working spine!!!
