Chicago Marathon: Relief

Drinking fluids--large amounts of them--in an integral part of preparing for a marathon. Although it can be overdone--see hyponatremia--avoiding diuretics and drinking a lot of water is a good idea in the 24 hour period leading up to a 26.2 mile race.

But for every action there is a reaction. And one quarter of a mile into yesterday's Chicago Marathon, quite a few men choose the relative privacy of Columbus Drive under Wacker to relieve themselves, such as the man standing in the puddle on the left.

Oh, what kind of outfit is he wearing? And do you see the water bottle on his right?
