Obama misleads on doctors' support of health care

I only saw one of the Barack Obama Sunday talk show interviews. On Meet the Press, this statement by the president captured my attention:

You know, I - I have said - that it is very important that we take into account the concerns of doctors and nurses who, by the way, support our efforts. And I- and that's something that doesn't get noticed much.

Five days earlier, Investors Business Daily released these poll findings:

Two of every three practicing physicians oppose the medical overhaul plan under consideration in Washington, and hundreds of thousands would think about shutting down their practices or retiring early if it were adopted, a new IBD/TIPP Poll has found.

Yes, the American Medical Association supports the primary health care reform bill, H.R. 3200. But only 20 percent of doctors belong to the AMA.

Polls can be misleading--the IBD poll is a mail-in poll, and it should not be viewed as sacrosanct. However, the president is misleading Americans when he says doctors support ObamaCare.
