Dem at town hall: "I rarely vote against my own constituency"

Here's an ObamaCare vote to look for--that of Rep. John Spratt (D-SC), who said at a town hall meeting yesterday, "I rarely vote against my own constituency."

He was booed after he made that statement.

Here's what The Palmetto Scoop said about it:

One man referenced three bills Spratt recently voted for that allocated $75 million for marine turtles, wild cats and otters. The man named another piece of legislation that Spratt supported that spent $84 million on migrant and seasonal farm workers, including illegal aliens.

It would be hard to argue that any of those bills would be in line with what a majority of Spratt's constituents would want.

The health care debate has placed the aging Democrat Congressman in a difficult position: He can either listen to the overwhelming voice of his constituents, or follow the marching orders of his liberal bosses.

Judging by his response to questions at Thursday's town hall meeting, it’s becoming more and more likely that he's leaning toward the latter option.
