Rep. Cleaver refuses to talk health care bill at Kansas City coffee gathering

Every month, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) holds "Coffee with Cleaver" in Kansas City.

The Kansas City Star has a report on today's coffee, which had 75 attendees, far more than usual.

Cleaver would not discuss health care with the crowd in part because there is no health care bill, just a series of committee proposals, he said.

Someone yelled, “That’s a bunch of …,” and others chanted, "No ObamaCare."

Several shot back: "Let him talk."

Cleaver met privately with the constituents, mostly talking health care with them, and then left for another appointment.

Two days ago, Cleaver chose to hold a tele-town hall meeting about health care reform.
