Shootings at DC Holocaust museum

Details are still unfolding from Washington, but there has been a shooting inside the United States Holocaust Museum.

Two people have been shot, a security guard and the assailant.

All of the national mall museums in Washington are free, but visitors must pass through a metal detector and their belongings must be scanned. Just like at an airport.

I've never visited this museum, but I have been to the Illinois Holocaust Museum in Skokie. They have a similar security apparatus in place.

Initial reports are that the shootings at the DC museum took place in the vestibule, in front of the scanners.
