Hurry up offense on again: Sotomayor confirmation hearing to begin July 13

As I've noted before, the worse an idea is, the greater the need for the Barack Obama to use its hurry-up offense to get it through Congress.

For examples, I give you the so-called stimulus bill, and the upcoming push for government health care.

Regarding the latter, Obama said, "If we don't get it done this year, we're not going to get it done."

An hour ago, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-VT) announced that the confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor will begin July 13.

Usually these hearings take place 60 days after the nomination has been made.
