Last week Independence, Missouri celebrated the 125th anniversary of the birth of its hometown hero, Harry S Truman.Which got me thinking about the upcoming Ronald Reagan Centennial.

The Gipper, the only president born in Illinois, was born in the tiny town of Tampico on that date in 1911.
The Ronald Reagan Foundation has an ambitious fundraising drive underway, but gives no specifics of what it has planned.
As for Illinois: There will be a celebration, right?
